The entire implant process is performed over the course of a few months. The first part of the process is to install the implant itself, where a screw is placed into the jaw bone. Your smile will look just like it used to, and after a short period of getting used to the implant it will feel just like one of your own teeth.

After an implant is inserted during a minor procedure done in the dental office, it will become solidly fused to your bone over a period of several months. This can stress those adjacent teeth and leave them more susceptible to decay. Likewise, a partial denture relies on adjacent natural teeth for support and may cause those teeth to loosen over time. Caring for implant teeth is no different than caring for your natural teeth. You must brush them and floss them daily.
